Organization:

Instructions:
1.The activity starts with first attacker dribbling at the defender who is passive
2.The attacker then plays to the player opposite and closes them down
3.The defender once beat joins the opposite line
4.The process is repeated

Organization:

Instructions:
1.Defending player starts with the ball
2.Defending player passes to the attacking player
3.The attacking player moves out to receive the ball and attempts to beat the defender over their end line
4.Defending player becomes active on the attacker’s first touch and attempts to win the ball
5.Players rotate roles after each attempt
6.Award points for successful attempts and keep score
Coaching Points:
1.Commit defender
2.Play at speed
3.Attack the front foot of the defender
4.Execution of fake and feints
5.Cut in the space behind the defender – close the door
Progressions:
P – If the defender wins the ball they now can score by dribbling over the attacker’s end line
P – Defending players now become active on their pass
R – Allow attackers a second touch before defender is active
R – Have attackers start with the ball

Organization:
1.40 x 30 yard area set up as shown
2.12 players (2 teams of 5, 2 Goalkeepers) set up as shown

Instructions:
1.Players are divided into 2 teams 5 v 5 + GK’s and combine to score goals
2.Players are not allowed to pass the ball forward
3.They are allowed to pass sideways and backward. They are also are permitted to shoot forward
4.First team to 10 goals win
Coaching Points:
1.Recognize 1 v 1 situations and take on opponent
2.When your team loses possession, try to get ‘touch tight’ to partner
3.Observe unopposed teammates and pass to them
4.Observe open space and dribble to score
5.Positive first touch where possible
6.If the route to goal is blocked, switch the point of attack
7.Improvisation/Creativity
Progressions:
P – Open play
P – 3 touch minimum, forces players to dribble
R – Introduce neutral players, who play with the attacking team
R – Opponents can only challenge after player has had two touches

Instructions:
1.All players dribble around the area
2.On coach’s call “switch”, players stop their ball from moving, and start dribbling with a new ball (see A)
3.One ball is removed every 30 seconds, leaving one more player without a ball each time
4.Players without a ball must try to steal one from another player
5.If a ball is stolen, that player must steal one from a different person
6.Play for set time period
Coaching Points:
1.Change of speed and direction
2.Head up, accelerate away
Progressions:
1.P – Coach can restrict the surfaces players may use to control the ball, e.g. inside only, outside only, soles only
P – Players can steal the ball back from the person who stole it from them, immediately
R – Add in more balls than players
