Reaction/Agility (15 mins)

Set up

-4-6 players on a cone

-2 line of cones on the ends

-yellow cones 5 yards away, red cones 10 yards away

Drill

-players are jumping over the cones

-on coaches clap the players will accelerate to one either yellow or red cones

-1 clap players Sprint to their RIGHT YELLOW cones

-2 claps players Sprint to their LEFT RED cones

-first player across wins

-by using the clapping it gets the players thinking

Variation 1

-players are hoping on RIGHT foot

-players are hoping on LEFT foot

-players are shuffling side to side of the cone

Reaction/Agilty 2 (15 mins)

Set-up

- 3 lines of players

- 3-5 players per line

- cones set up as above red cones are 5 yards apart

- starting cone yellow is 5 yards back of 1st red cone

Drill

- on coaches command "GO"

- players sprint out to the last cone where the ball is and pass the ball into the net. After they shoot they sprint back to the end of the line

-coach has a bunch of balls close by, after the players sprint back the coach will put down the net set of balls.

Variations

-on their knees facing forward

-on their knees facing backwards

-lying on their backs

-lying on their stomachs hands on head

-sitting cross legged hands in the air

-sitting cross legged facing backwards

-players sprint out to 2nd cone , then backwards around 1st cone, sprint out to 3rd cone, backwards around 2nd cone the sprint out to the 3rd cone and pass the ball into the net

Variations

-on their knees facing forward

-on their knees facing backwards

-lying on their backs

-lying on their stomachs hands on head

-sitting cross legged hands in the air

-sitting cross legged facing backwards
