General set up

Wingers 7 and 11 start wide hugging the touchline.

Central midfield players start wide of the D looking to recieve the ball on the back foot to play forward.

Looking for mf4 to be patient moving the ball side to side then when the opportunity arises make a penetrating pass into the number 10 who is playing in between the lines in zone 14.

Important points to consider

- midfield 4 to be patient but move the ball quickly to increase distance between midfield screens.

- movement away to come back to create open space.

- Rotation between 9 and 10 to keep defenders guessing.

- checking of shoulder to assess what to do next.

Creating the space to play in zone 14

Ball to be played wide then look for a switch through the midfield to increase distance between midfield screens and create space between the back 4 and midfield screens.

Passing options for the server

1. CM on the half turn.

2. If CM screens are wide and up high straight into number 10

3. Long pass into the wide man.
