Aim:
-To improve the teams ability to maintain possession by developing individual passing and receiving skills

Set Up
-as above, same area as warm up.
-players work in triangles, one player in middle, two players on outside as shown.
-should be groups of 3.
Activity
-Player A passes the ball to the middle (player B), and follows their pass.
-Player B receives with their right foot, then passes to Player C. Player B follows their pass.
-Player C receives with their right foot and dribbles the ball back to the start.
-Then repeat sequeance.
Progressions
-Repeat exercise so players now receive with the left foot (the triangle will flip-flop)
- Paintbrush activity: Remove the cones and have players passing and moving in the marked area. The idea is to have the players using the ball as a paintbrush to cover the grass and moving at all times.
Dosage:
Intensity: Moderate to high
Reps: 20
Sets: 2 (Right then left foot)
Rest: 1 minute between each set

TRY TO:
-Pass using the inside of your foot facing your target.
-receive the ball with an open body position.
-Move off the ball and support the recieving player to hlp with pass selection.
-Provide a good pass with good weight and accuracy.

-3 v 1 rondo's
-change the defender everytime they win the ball

-4 mini goals
- 5 v 5 (or 6 v 6 depending on numbers)
Activity:
-5 v 5
- non-directional. Teams can score in any 4 goals.

-two touch limit
-make it directional like a real game
- less coaching, let them play

Set up:
-place cone or pole in centre with small cones 15 yards from middle as shown
-divide group into 4 (one group behind each cone)
Activity:
-4 players at once (one from each line). One ball per line.
-Players start and finish at same line.
-Begin with light jog to middle, around pole, jog out and join line to left. Repeat with lateral movement, backwards, skipping.
-Players dribble ball to middle go around the pole and dribble to their left
-Players Dribble to the middle, stop the ball and take players ball to their left.
-Repeat all movements in opposite direction.
-Players dribble to middle and perform a turn, accelerating back to the line they started from (pull-back, outside cut, L-shape)
Dosage:
Intensity: Moderate to high
Reps: 2 (clockwise and counter-clockwise)
Rest: 30 seconds between each rep
Coaching Points:
-close control
-use all surfaces of the foot
-keep your head up and use periheral vision
-change of direction and acceleration.
