Screen 1 (25 mins)

Technical Warm Up (20min)

Juggling, fast footwork, stretch (10min)

Passing in 2's (5yds, 10yds, 30yds, 40yds) 2min each

Cp's- Gradually warm up, concentrate, progress into game speed, planted foot-hips and shoulders facing your target, passing foot must be perpendicular to planted foot, proper weight and direction on the pass

Screen 2 (20 mins)

Small sided Activity (15min)

Players A and B must sprint to the cones and back to starting point. Gk restarts the play from a Goal kick or with his/her hands. A and B must score on C

Cp's-Planted foot next to the ball, lock your ankle, try different finishes, Gk and defenders must communicate, push up and drop into soft space, play at game speed

Expanded Small sided Activity (25min)

5 Vs 3 (playing out the back

Orange starts attacking (the flat 4 must display defensive principles). Once posession is regained, players must open up in length and width. Use the least amount of touches to get out of the defensive 3rd

Variation-Add numbers (mids, fwds, and more opposition)

Cp's-Stay compact, communicate, display defensive principles, push up and provide length and width, go from the defensive 3rd into middle 3rd in the least amount of touches possible, get forward whenever possible

Speed Training (10 mins)

Sprint training with ball

8 Repititions

30 seconds passing - 20 seconds sprint - 10 second walk.

Session structure

Players are split into two groups.

Poles are 80 yards apart with two 10 x 10 yard boxes at either end of poles with 2 balls in each square..

Session starts with players passing 2 balls amongst each other in square for 30 seconds, they then have 10 seconds to jog/walk to start line. On the 'go' shout, players have 20 seconds to sprint 80 yards, they then head straight into square and pass balls for 30 seconds and repeat 8 times in total.
