Juggle/Dribble/Dynamic Stretch (10 mins)

Warm Up:

Use dribbling skills and juggling skills to get the players moving and within their skill work incorporate dynamic stretching to prepare their bodies for the upcoming training session.

Quadrant Game (20 mins)

Use a grid divided into 4 quadrants with groups (of 5 or 6) passing and moving to cover all quadrants but players are not allowed to dribble into a new quadrant. There are multiple groups playing at the same time and all players move around the entire field.

Coaching Points:

-Where should players off the ball go to allow to play out of pressure?

-Distance and angle of support

-Body positioning and open hips to have good vision

-Good spacial awareness

To increase movement of players here are a few options:

- must move to a new section after you pass

- can only stay in one section for 5 seconds

- if coach catches a team standing still, they have to restart their count at 0

Posession-no direction (20 mins)

Two teams compete against each other in a basic posession game.

Coaching Points:

-Emphasis on going away from pressure.

-get from one side of the field where there's pressure to the opposite side where there's space

-Utilize neutral players if necessary to give an attacking advantage

5v5 + 2 (20 mins)

In a grid split into two halves, play 5v5 +2 neutrals. A team recieves a point whenever they complete a pass from one side to the other succesfully. Progress to having a thrid zone in the middle, where players must play to all 3 zones to get a point. Players do NOT stay in one zone, but rahter move all around the field to support as needed.

Coaching Points:

-Play quickly (1 and 2 touch)

-Good movement for support

-Good spacing & movement to unbalance defenders

-Open body to increase vision

-Play outlet passes into the open space away from pressure

-Good vision, must see field to play

5v5/6v6 to 2 gates (20 mins)

In a grid approximatly 60 wide x 45 long, play 6v6 with each team having the optinon to score in 2 different gates.

Coaching points:

-Play quickly (one touch options)

-Combine quickly in one area but still have good vision to know when to change point of attack

-When & where to move is vital

-Are your outlet passes eliminating the other team's players?
