Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Gambas U12/U14

Warm Up (20 mins)

Set Up:

20x20m

Organisation

2 players on central marker. 1 player on each end. The rest of the players at the start position.

INSTRUCTIONS:

3 Touch is a must, 2 Touch if they can.

Pass & Control

The player with the ball runs to the middle player.

He takes the ball to the wide player on the right.

The wide player runs with the ball through the poles.

He passes the ball back to the start

Progression 1

Players now pass and follow (rather than dribbling the ball to the next man)

Progression 2

Now, after the first pass is played forward and followed, a short pass is set back by the middle player.

This allows the third pass to be played long (diagonally)

He dribbles through the poles and passes the ball back to the start

Progression 3

In the final progression, the first pass is played long diagonally to the wide player.

He sets the ball back to the middle man who has spun off the middle disc towards the wide player

The third pass is laid off from the middle player to the wide player

He runs with the ball through the poles and passes back to the start

Duals (20 mins)

Set Up:

2 penalty Box

Organisation

Players start from the goalside. Upon shooting, they must come and chase the opponent.

INSTRUCTIONS:

As quick as they can, shoot and come back to defend.
