Working with players on Indiviudal defening. Previous games have shown a lot of players diving in and getting beat too easily, as well as misreading when to win the ball and when to delay play.

Side A plays to side B then defends. Player B is trying to get by player A and dribble over the line. If Player B wins it he tries to cross the other line.
-Coaching Points-
1. Good defensive stance
2. Bent run, Approach quickly and slow down as they approach, side on stance.
3. If back is turned, step immediately and make contact
4. Stay low
5. Two kinds of seperation. 1. Seperating ball from player 2. Seperating player from ball.

8v8 (depending on numbers)
There is an enzone on each end of the field. Team A scores by dribbling and stopping the ball in zone B, and team B scores by dribbling and stopping the ball in Zone A.
-Coaching Points-
1. When to go in to win the ball and when do delay
2. Cues for when to delay (speed) or when to step in (bad touch or back turned)
3. Look for individual defensive errors (mostly technical)

Warm-Up (15 mins)
Players will partner up and take turns with one dribbling across the field in a straight line, while the other one backs up with them in a good defensive stance.
-Defensive Stance-
1. Get low, knees bent.
2. Side on.
3. Switching quickly if switching is needed. (hip facement)
4. Keeping good distance between themselves and the attacker.
-Progressions-
1. Attackers start moving the ball side to side while dribbling forward.
2. Attackers vary their speed.
3. Attackers randomly turn their back. (Cue for defender to close in and make contact)
