Warm Up
Set Up
- 30x30
- split the squad into pairs, 1 with a ball 1 without
- use props within the area to create obstacles (mini goals, hurdles, cones) as targets for dribbling
- SAQ stations set up on the outside of the drill area
- Hurdles - cones - ladders - leap pads etc
- team with the ball to get lots of touches of the ball, dribble in and out of the cones, under the hurdles and dribble towards the goals for a shot - same as warm up
- team on the outside to work on SAQ - each player to complete 2 x circuits then go and change with their partner
- Use of both feet to dribble
- inside and outside of the feet
- drag backs and turns

- 4 per group, 2 at each side around 20 apart
- first player to dribble through the cones keeping close control
- then play pass to end player
- introduce a bounce pass at the end
- player making pass to go passively press the player so they have to decide which way to dribble
- Using both feet
- close control
- awareness of postion, keep the head up

Game Related Practice
Set up
- 4 x 15x15 boxes
- 3 v 1 in each box#
- extra balls around the outside
Direction
- 3v1 in each box players to keep possession and where the opportunity comes up dribble into the open area within the box
- on the coaches whistle, player in possession to dribble from 1 area to the next, going clockwise to start then anticlockwise
- defenders to change every 2-3 mins
- As the dribblers move in a clockwise direction the defender to move into another box in an anticlockwise direction
- keep possession within the box, awareness and taking a touch into the space
- when changing boxes take a positive touch in that direction and close control dribble into new area being aware of the defender and where he is in the box.

- 1/3 of pitch with 7v7 goals
- 7v7 with a GK per team
- Wing channel coned
- 1 ball in play extra to surround the pitch
- 8v8 game with full rules
- attacking team can have 2 players in the coned channel, defenders can only have 1 which creates a 2v1 in those areas and encourages a 2v1 dribbling situation
- Remove coned area and play full game
- Awareness of when to dribble to drive team forward and when to pass

- how often can we create a 2v1 situation
