Builds on session 3 and the 2v2 concepts. Develops the theme and sets the challenge of how to create scoring chances when 2v2. Also helps to reinforce good defensive practice.Introduces the concept of balance.

Players queue in 2 lines and swap lines after each play.
Passing sequence to set up a shot.
Then come back via the exercises.
Coaching points:

2 teams split into side L and side R. Coned area is approx 25x25.
Play moves alternate L and R sides. Each side is slit into 2 zones
The GKs play the ball out (practice goal kicks or from hand) for L reds to mount an attack from either L zone - either 10+9 vs 4+5, OR 3+11 vs 7+2. Reds can switch play to other zone but must remain in their zones and on the L side. No zones after the last markers.
Reds can shoot from anywhere. Blues try to win ball and score by passing thru the cone goals. They too can switch the ball to either zone but stay in their zones.
*blacks attack quick to get to the open space
*pass/shoot early
*use crossover runs or takeovers to beat the defenders
*support each other - START AGAIN - switch play?
Game is over if ball goes dead, or goal scored.
All players swap sides after 5 mins.
Progress by allowing players to cross zones, whilst keeping a 2v2 BALANCE. As shown on R.
(Dev progression : a combined play using all zones, but keeping 2v2 BALANCE in each and moving ball as required to score)
Progress again if time to allow the blues a 3v2 - illustrating the benefit of being able to defend more centrally.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
3/4 pitch too big so use S7s pitch or as above. 4 quadrants and play 2v2 in each.
Any extra players can float. If less than 16 allow a couple to switch zones.
Defenders
*1st and 2nd - defend the centre
*communicate across zones
*win ball when safe to do so and look for safe pass - not always forward
*adjacent zones look to offer options
Attack
*go quick
*use width within your zone
*adjacent zones look to provide passing options
*max 2 touch finish
Progress by
1.allowing an extra player in zone when taking goal kicks/throw ins
2. one touch finish
3. Swap zones allowed.

2v2 intro/warm up
30x 30 area (one quadrant as set up for GRP)
Simple pass into the 2v2 setup and the reds get 1 point for passing out to other side.
If blues win the ball, they can pass out to start their own attack.
GKs play as neutrals passing back to the passing team.
Progress by needing to make a minimum of 3 passes before passing out
