Aim:
- To develop individual foot skills and introduce attacking moves, applying them effectively in a 1 v 1 situation.

INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 30-45 secs REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 25-30
Activity:
- 1 v 1
- The player with the ball starts the attack from inside the end goal.
- When the attacker touches the ball the defender is able to come out and defend his two goals.
- Players must dribble through the goals to score
- After their turn switch sides.
Scoring:
- Each goal scored after an attacking move is worth (5) goals.
Progression:
- Remove (2) goals.
Coaching Points:
1. Close control
2. Short opposite movements to create a yard of space.
3. Use your body to protect the ball and beat the defender - can you put your opponents off balance?
4. Balance and strength, be able to hold the defender off the ball
5. Identify the space and accelerate into it.

Activity:
- 5 v 5 (4) goals (if additional player add a neutral).
- Free play.
- Normal game rules apply.
Scoring:
- Each goal scored after an attacking move is worth (5) goals.
Progressions:
1. Attacking move before you score
2. Touch limit
3. Remove (1) goal per team.
Coaching Points:
1. Encourage 1 v 1 dribbling and moves
2. Can players beat their opponent 1 v 1 then look to make the pass to the next zone or score.
3. Be prepared to play under pressure
4. Less coaching, let them play.

Ball Mastery and attacking moves (20 mins)
INTENSITY: Moderate ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 8-10
Activity:
1. Footskills
- Players perform different footskills up to the large cone and back to their start cone - inside and outside, toe taps, soccer boxes, drags.
2. Move onto Attacking Moves.
- Large cone is a defender. Players dribble at the same time and perform the attacking move finishing at the opposite end to which they start. Repeat with left and right foot.
a) Recap Side-step fake, Scissors, Step-over
b) Double Scissors
c) Wave
Coaching Points:
1. Close control
2. Use all surfaces of the foot
3. Keep your head up and use periheral vision
4. Beat the defender, accelerate into open space.
