Win 4 Balls

SETUP

2 squares, mini goals

PRACTICE

4 attacking players all have a ball and dribble and protect the ball.

The aim of the defender is to run in, win the balls and pass them into the the goals

When the attackers ball is kicked into a goal they now help their teammates to keep possession of the balls. This will see variations of 4 players with 4 balls, to 4 players with 1 ball in a keep away / space and move situation.

  • If the attackers only have one ball if they make 4/5/6/7/8 passes then the can shoot into the goal - defender has to recover very quick to delay shots

SETUP

5 cones and 2 poles in the goal

PRACTICE

1v1 recovery defending.

Defender (blue) passes to the left - must be a good forward pass to support the attacker (yellow).

The attacker has to run forward past the front cone and then run to the ball to make an attack

The defender must recover to delay the attacker, running past the yellow cone.

The attacker must shoot into the bottom corner of the goal, in between the pone and the side cone.

If the defender wins the ball, pass forward to the small goal

SETUP

6 cones and 2 poles in the goal

PRACTICE

2v2 recovery defending.

The defender makes the same pass forward for the attacker. Both attacker run past the from cone - one runs to the ball, the other runs for forward to create a passing line but must stay onside too.

The back defender needs to delay and dictate the attacker and the top defender needs to recover back as quick as possible.

The attacker must shoot into the bottom corner of the goal, in between the pone and the side cone.

If the defender wins the ball, pass forward to the small goal of pass to their team mate and they pass to the small goals.
