STATION 2
Opposed Distribution - 20 Minutes
Progression
- Area - similar to the technical session (screen 1)
- 3v3 in the centre of area with 2 players from each team in both 'Dead Zones' on either side of the pitch.
- The GK's can play to any of the players on their team. The practice is directional but unlike the technical session, is now opposed both in the middle area and in the 'Dead Zone'.
- Now players can manoeuvre in the area e.g one of the players in the central area can try and make a 2v1 in the channel when their team have possession - this could present more crossing opportunities.
Coaching Points
- Similar to those in the technical practice with GK's being made fully aware of the position of all of the outfield players, practising the varying options of distribution.

Unopposed Distribution (20 mins)
STATION 1
Unopposed Distribution - 20 Minutes
Organization
- Quarter pitch width 44 yards with a 5 yard 'Dead Zone' on each side.
- Penalty area at both ends, one already marked, the other is marked by cones.
- 2 goals with a GK in each - 14 players outfield playing 7v7.
Instructions
- Both teams unopposed, Playing towards the opposing goal. Two players can break out into the channel to provide crossed balls.
Options are:
- Back pass to the GK
- A cross into the penalty area
- Once the ball is in the GK's possession it is then up to the GK to assess the situation and decide the method of distribution to use for example -
- Distribute with feet
- Volley from hands
- Quick throw out (overarm or underarm)
- The position of the outfield players is another consideration for the GK.
Coaching Points
- The position of the GK receiving a back pass, a shot or a cross, with consideration to body position, with eyes on the ball
- The GK should work on passing accuracy and weight of pass - volley, half-volley or side volley.
- From a throw out, whether underarm or overarm, the keeper has to consider the position of the outfield players.
- GK should use the size of the penalty area to their advantage and consider their supporting position after ball has been distributed
