Set Up:
Group should be halfed to give and attacking team and defending team. Defending team should start at side of small goal. The Attacker should start at the marker. Other Attaking players should wait at the furthest away marker.
Action:
A1 passes the ball to A2. As this happend D1 will come out to press / defend. A1 should perform 'Step & Take' to face / go beyond the oncoming defender. On beating the defender the attacking player should dribble quickly and finish in the small goal.
Transition:
If the defender wins the ball they quickly try and attack the goal to score.
Coaching Points:
Move to get on the ball quickly
Recieve on the back foot
Dribble ball forward to beat / go beyond the oncoming defender
Get away quickly
Step & Take (15 mins)
Set Up:
Players should be split into two smaller groups as shown in the diagram. Goals should be placed off centre to allow groups to attack a goal. Where possible players should have a ball each. Player positioned at the middle marker will start without a ball.
Action:
Player A passes a ball to Player B. Player B must perform a 'Step & Take' to beat the Defender. As soon as the attacking player is by the Defender they must accelerate away into the finishing zone to then score a goal.
Players should be encouraged to work both sides which will encourage use of both feet.
Coaching Points:
Look Up to find space
Check off the Defender to recieve the ball
Call for pass
Receive ball on the back foot (left or right depending on what side they go to)
Positive Touch Foward
Get Away / Move quickley to get beyond the Defender
