Organization:
-create 2 grids as shown in diagram (15x30yds)
-8 cones x2
-10 to 12 players
-1v1
-1 defender in each zone
-attackers with a ball each
Instructions:
-Players start with ball at the end of the grid, player must look to beat 1st defender & dribble through one of the two gates.
-If player is successful & gets through gate they will then have another 1v1 with the 2nd defender in the next zone.
-Player must look to dribble through either gate at the top before returning to the start again.
-The next player in line can go as soon as player ahead of them has went through the first zone.
-1 point for each gate
Progression:
-If defender wins the ball back then they will take ball & join the attacking line. The player who lost the ball will now become the defender.
Coaching Points:
-change of speed on the ball when approaching defender & pushing away from defender
-toe pointing down & laces pushing ball forward
-be on our toes so we can dribble quickly & look to change direction
-show defender our back to protect the ball

-create 3 to 4 grids (15x15yds)
-12 to 16 cones
-2v2 per grid
-1 ball per grid.
Instructions:
-Players must look to dribble through the opposition team's gate to gain a point.
-Players must dribble through gate, they cannot kick it.
-When a point is scored the opposition must start with the ball.
-3 minute games & then rotate teams.
Progression:
-Players can now dribble through any of the gates to gain a point.
-If players dribble through gate with weaker foot it will get them 2 points.
Coaching Points:
-close control when dribbling ball
-protect ball by showing defender our back
-use laces to dribble with toe pointing to the ground
-communication & movement off ball to help partner

Organization:
-Players placed on to a field 35x45 into 2 teams of 5 or 6.
Instructions:
-If ball goes out of the field players can make the decision to either pass or dribble in. Once the ball has been saved or gone out for a goal kick the defensive team must retreat to the Retreat Line at halfway.
-Allow players to play.
Coaching Points:
-see the ball/see the player
-change of speed/direction
-keep head up
-use all parts of both feet
Warm Up - Tag (10 mins)
Organization:
-create a grid 25x30yds
-10 to 12 players
-1 ball per player
-3 to 4 bandits (Red Jerseys)
Instructions:
-Players must dribble around the grid with the ball at their feet, while protecting the ball from the bandits who will try to hit their ball.
-Bandits will run around the grid with the ball in their hands, their job is to try & hit the dribbling player's soccer ball with their ball.
-If dribbling player's ball gets hit, they must dribble outside the grid & perform a double scissor/ball mastery move before returning.
Coaching Points :
-point toe down & push ball forward with laces
-always be on toes when dribbling soccer ball
-small touches to keep ball close & not have it run away
-check shoulders to see where bandit is
