Objectives:
~ Using longer passes from #1/4/5 to bypass first line of pressure
~ Using #1 to force defense to adjust
~ Introducing Up-Back-Thru pattern

Intervals:
Setup:
3 Zone grid setup as shown (16x16 with 5 yard central zone)
2 Teams
8 attackers vs. 3 defenders
Activity:
Up-Back-Thru
4v2 in one grid, when the moment is right the attacking player in other grid (#7) should check into central zone, lay off to #8 while #2 gets forward to receive ball and play to #9.
Once there, the play is reversed (mirrored) to go the other direction.
Competition: Each team plays for 60 seconds before rotating attackers/defenders. 1 point for getting ball to farthest striker.
Coaching Points:
~ Opposite movement to lose defender in far grid (either by starting behind eye-line or by pushing into defender to create separation).
~ If defender doesn't track then #7 should turn and play directly to #9.
~ Wide players must make aggresive diagonal runs to receive ball at pace
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Intervals:
3 min work + 1 min rest x 6 reps = 24 min
Setup:
3 teams of 5
(GK work on own)
Grid split into 1/3s -- 25x20 (wider than long; middle zone 10x20)
Activity:
Only defending team can score -- 1 point for winning ball and playing back to central channel; 3 points for scoring in goal behind attackers (small goal with no GK)
Weak side team should send in one midfielder into central zone.
Defending team can send one to deeper zone if they want (prevent long ball).
Coaching Points:
~ Technical details: receive across body, pass to proper foot, open body to field
~ Central player moving opposite of the ball
~ Using up-back-thru to transfer ball safely
~ #2/3 maintaining width
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Setup:
Long, narrow field as shown.
2 teams of 7
2v1 in endzones (2 CBs vs 1 CF)
3v3 in the middle
Activity:
Team scores by getting ball into center forward under control.
Team in possession can use supporting CBs (CF can pressure).
Progression:
+ Score by getting ball into CF and then back to a midfielder
+ Score in big goal after getting ball into CF
Coaching Points:
~ Can I play directly into CF (skip lines)?
~ Can I play forward to furthest CM?
~ Look for opportunties for up-back-thru
