Technical - Shooting

Organization:
3 cones set up 25 yard away from front of the goal.
1 cone outside on the right side of the 18 yard.
A lot of balls.
Instructions:
Players A take a touch and strike the ball to goal while ball is moving.
Then player B pass to A who return the pass, players B run toward the ball and strike the ball with foot closest to the ball.
Players C dribble to the corner cone, pass the ball in front of it while running around and cross in front of 6 yard box.
Players A and B run in the box and strike ball with foot closest to the ball.
Then player A goes to B, B to C and C to A.
Coaching Points:
Shoulder and hips square to target, use laces with anckle lock, knee and chin over the ball.
Strike ball with foot closest to the ball to mask shot with body.
Progressions:
Switch side and use other foot.

Organistaion
Split players into three groups, 3 or 4 players in each group.
Place GK in goal.
Ensure plenty of balls.
Instructions
Play commences with a player from line A dribbling forward and shooting.
Once Player A has shot, Player B passes the ball to Player A, who returns it to Player B who must strike it first time.
Player A then joins the B line.
Player B immediately after shooting become a defender against Player C, who must try to either beat Player B in a one-on-one, or shoot before Player can close him down.
Player B then joins line C, Player C joins line A.
Repeat.
Progressions
1. Players must shoot from outside the area.
2. Restrict players to shoot with their weakest foot.
3. Players A & C work in pairs - once Player A has shot, can Player C follow in for the rebound/spill? then return to line C.
4. Players A & B work in pairs - once Player B has shot, Player A follows in for the rebound/spill, then returns to line A.

Organization:
3v3 Small-sided tournament games: 4 teams of 3 players eachteam. 2 fields of 30x40 yards with 2 Pugg Goals on opposite endlines.
Instructions:
4 Teams of 3, play 3v3 tournament style format where each team will play one another. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 for a loss. Each game should be approximately 6-8 minutes in duration (obviously play a 3 game tournament).
Coaching Points:
· Review of session's learning outcomes being translated into the game
· 3 lines of attack
· Creating diamond (gives angles of support)
· Making diamond as big as possible (Creating space)
· Identifying any numbers up situations

Organisation
Create a small pitch 60 x 40 yards with an area marked by cones at least 15 yards from the goals.
Split players into two teams - Red - 9 players in a 4-3-1 formation; Blue team - 8 players 3-3-1 formation.
Instructions
Players can only score from inside the shaded area.
Progressions
1. Players can score from either a shot from inside the shaded area or directly from a rebound or spill by the GK (to encourage follow up).
2. Reduce the width of the shaded area to more closely resemble zone 14.

Organization:
Two area of 10x30 yard with a flag goal 8 feet wide.
Three group of 4 players.
A lot of balls.
Instructions:
Players A pass the ball to B, B take a shot on goal.
C original shooter became a keeper, D original passer become a shooter.
After the save the keeper switch side and become a passer.
Start with 2 touch and go to one touch.
Coaching points:
Eyes on the ball when striking.
Approach ball slightly on side.
Non kicking foot next to the ball.
Anckle lock toe pointed down.
Strike ball with laces.
Knee and Head over the ball.
Follow through with whole body.
Shouders and hips facing the goal after strike.
Progressions:
Use both feet.
Keeper has to touch a flag before doing a save, now shooter should place with the flat of the foot for finesse or bent the ball depending on position of keeper.
