Diamond Passing 4v2 (15 mins)

Diamond Passing 4v2 (15 minutes)

Set Up

- quarter pitch split in 2

- 6 players per grid

Instructions

- Play starts to the left and then switch to the right. 4 attacking players on each cone. A plays ball to B who is opening up to receive the ball with their left foot, and then pass to player C. C then plays ball to -Player D who is opening up to receive ball with their left foot and then plays ball to A.

- Each player follows their pass. Rotate to the right. Defenders are playing pass only and not applying pressure.

- Progression: Player A plays ball to B who drops ball back to A. A then plays firm pass to C who then plays ball to D. D plays ball to next player in Line A. Start to the left and then switch to the right.

Coaching Points

- Movement, communication, weight accuracy of the pass.

Set up

- quarter pitch split in 2

- 6 players per grid

Instructions

- 3v2/4v3 in both areas, with 2 target midfielders in the green on center line.

- To start, red plays to red and blue plays to blue, both playing the ball through the midfield targets and to the other side.

- Progression of Activity 1 with the addition of outside target players and playing 6v6 within the grid.

- Point scored by playing the ball to target players, target players then pass the ball to opposite target player and plays the ball to the same color.
