Possession game encouraging rotation whilst keeping a shape, clever angles, filling in for players, looking to drive into space.

On the defensive side, looking to win possession back early and then make pitch big to retain possession.

Possession in midfield area (10 mins)

Possession game with players on outside.

Rules -

3 minute games, then change outside players with inside

Players on outside - 2 touch

Players on inside - 3 touch

Play starts with outside player passing sideways to other outside player, whilst this happens, looking for rotation of middle men to look to recieve. Teams score by going from one end to other without opponents touching ball. Players on outside can move up and down, also can bounce off each other as many times as they want.

Progression -

Players on outside have to play 1 touch in order to see pictures early.

Possession with rotation. (10 mins)

Rules - 3 minute games.

Same pitch size and 3v3 in middle, this time have 3 blues and 3 yellows on outside.

Players on inside can only pass to the same colour on outside.

When the inside player passes ball to outside, the outside player drives into the middle and the nearest player goes to the outside.

Encourage players to make at least one pass inside before playing outside.

Looking for rotation, good angles, keepiing possession simple and effective.

This time to score a goal, you have to play a one - two with outside man. Once they played a one-two, inside man fills in on outside.
