Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): 1v1 Dribbling

Main Activity (20 mins)

Organization:

Instructions:

• The players dribble out to the third cone and perform a Stop-Turn. They then dribble back to the first cone and perform another Stop-Turn. After their second turn, they dribble to the fourth cone, perform Stop-Turn, and dribble to the starting cone. The player high five the next player, and the process repeats.

Coaching Points/Questions:

- Pinky toe to dribble

- Keep ball close, touch on every step

- Correct execution of turns

- Emphasize the 'fake' to sell the turn

- Ball out of feet

- Head up after turn

- Accelerate out of turn

Progressions:

- Use a weaker foot on every other go

- Progress to a Stepover Turn

- Progress to a Stop-Stepover Combination

Match (30 mins)

• Regular rules 

Instructions:

• Try to apply new knowledge and skills that were practiced before the match at the practice
