Screen 2
1v1s
Blue plays the ball into yellow, yellow tries to take on blue past the first cone within their lane.
Blue then takes position of yellow and next players steps into blue.
Step 2
Lanes 1 & 2 join together
Lanes 4 & 5 join together
Lane 3 stays as it is
Start with 2v1 (attacking overload) now playing to the end of the pitch
Vary with 2v2s or 3v2s
Add in that players must aim for gate at end of their lanes (Gate always pushes player towards the goal).
Central lane will be looking to play into the goal. (More central players should be in the more central lanes).
Coaching Points:
- Speed up to slow down defending
- Body shape (showing away from the gate/ goal - use the goal as reference at start of drill before we add in gates and 2v1s)
- Press and cover in 2v2s

Box Receive
Working in 3s
Take it in turns to be inside the box (2 minutes and switch)
Step 1 - Receive the ball from P1, control inside the box, Pass to P2 (Back foot touch and turn). Players outside the box to move around to stop passing be straight back and forth.
Step 2 - Same drill, but first touch must now come outside of the box through the gate you're going to pass to P2.
Coaching points:
- Looking to increase touches of the football for first session back, each player should have touched the ball 200-300 times
- Players need to add intensity and speed into the practice as the constant drill will get boring and slow temp without any skill or getting back into training
- Can players scan and open body up ready for first touch (can player in the box see both players from their stance).
- Quality back foot first touch with positive intent
