Defending Back Three:
- On coaches command react to cone and have good P-C-B
- Progression. Coaches will
Coaching Points: 1) individual defensive stance, 2) communication: force right or force left; I go ball, I got cover, etc. 3) Quick transition
Defending the dribble or the long ball
- If there's no pressure on the ball and you see the player put his head to hit the long ball, what do we do? (Yell side on and starting running back side on)
- if the player is dribbling with no pressure, the three backs do not break shape but keep dropping at the speed of dribbler.

Crossing and Finishing Progression:
1) A takes diagonal touch and finishes on goal. Then B takes a diagonal touch inside and plays a 45 degree ball. Switch lines after.
2) Switch side of service.
Coaching Points: Can finish laces across the goal to far post, or finish inside of the foot near post.On the cross, players need to finish near post with front foot. Why? if they let it come across body, it's more difficult and gives opportunity for defender to win the ball.
Coaches you'll need to oversee two groups.

Half Field Transition Game
7v 5 + GK
Rules
Coach will give ball to the three players. The three players score by dribbling across one of the two cone goals.
The 6 players will have to get compact ASAP to win the ball.
Coaching Points: Offensive players need to react quickly by becoming compact to win it and then spread out ASAP to create width and make it hard for the opposition to win it back again. What is our deicison making progression:
1) Shoot
2) get in behind, by dribbling, combining, etc.
3) go wide
4) go back
Make sure when we get the ball wide and look to get in behind to cross it, players need to be making purposeful runs inside the box. How can team going to big goal exploit the space?
Progression:
-Once attackers win ball they can go to goal directly.
Add one player to defensive team to make it 4 field players + 1 GK.
***Introduce the three new offensive set pieces.
Work on offensive and defensive free kicks.

Defensive Corner: Set-up.
-Outside mids on post
-Tallest three players in line of three.
-Outside back 10 yards away from kicker
- other back in second line of three with two outside forwards
- player on top is our striker.
Once keeper wins it, our forwards need sprint forward. Outside forward

Defensive Set-Pieces
The 5 (RM-RB-CB-LB-LM) are playing zonal. As the person hitting the ball is running up to hit the ball, the players start dropping 5 yards into area to clear the ball. Everyone has their area and whoe4ver is closest needs to attack the ball. If you're not sure, go to it!
The HM (Grace) and CF (Jordynn) are man marking their biggest players.
Opposite FWD (in this case is LF) is up high. as soon as we win it she is drifting wide to get ball in space. As that happens, Offensive players are streaking centrally forward.
AM and Closest FWD are on the wall.
3v3 Arrival Game / 2v2 +@N (10 mins)
GU12's: 3v3 arrival game
Then they play 2v2+2N
2v2 + 2N
-Teams play 2v2 directionally. Encourage players to not always go forward but to go wide as well in case nothing is on.
-after 3 goals, losing team becomes neutrals. winner stays on field
Two Ways to Score: 1) score in small goal; 2) switching the field from one neutral to another.
Coaching Points: Don't force it in goal if it's not on, instead look to play wide player and find space. General shape in possession should be a diamond. Wide players need to be moving and always supporting the play. How can players on field make field bigger when they have the ball?
*Team that has been in the most will have fitness.
We need to go over the Offensive decision making principles
