Set up: In an area 70x50 divided into thirds. Middle third is 30 yards long while the others are 20 yards long. Play 7v7 in a 2-3-1 formation. Players are restircted to their zones with the exception of one midfield player being able to join after they play the ball into the forward. Players can shoot from anywhere.
Coaching Points:
-Players off the ball need to move in a way that allows teammate to play forward
-Once ball is played beyond one line then the deeper lying players should immediately look to receive the ball facing forward so they can penetrate. (e.g if pivot midfielder plays into forward then an attacking midfielder should get underneath the forward to receive the ball facing forward)
-Weight of each pass is critical. Deciding whther to fizz a ball into feet or taking a lighter touch with a lay off to invite teammate forward)
