7 cone exercise
organisatio: 2 players A work towards the middle cone and pactice a move to beat a defender in front. players B work as passive defender. after A has gone past B/A will pass the ball to B so B can attack. Work in pairs.
Skill Development: practice moves players use when they have a defender in front. like.. the scissor, double scissor, matthews move, side step double side step, roll across
coaching points: close control! start move early enough, go from high position into low position good body movement accelerate away, body posistion of the defender. make approach realistic.

1st attacker recieves, dribbles to penetrate and isolate the first and covering defender.
Attackers move and speed of play attempts to move defenders around to create 1v1 or 2v1 scenarios to penetrate.
Can the players in the 2v1 recognize the scenario and turn on the burners to beat the 2nd defender in a 2v1?
Encourage a LOT of movement OFF the ball and a LOT of confident dribbling and 1v1 moves!
- Supporting players use the width of the field to spread the covering defenders, with the view of creating spaces or channels for the 1st attacker to penetrate.
Technical Warm-Up (5 mins)
- All players with a ball, using the full area to dribble and enjoy having the ball.
Key points
- Use all surfaces of the foot to move the ball
- Never let the ball stray too far, but use the spin, turn and speed of the ball to perform different moves and tricks
- Head up after a few touches
- Quickly progress into players executing the moves they have practiced from last week
