3v2 Defending (20 minutes)

Organization:

- 30x35 area, team split with defenders behind the central goal and attackers behind cones on the playing area. Centre cone is approximately 5 yards further from the goal.

Activity:

- One defender plays a ball to either cone and 2 defenders go out and defend 3v2,

- Defenders have to be active and quick to pressure the ball and the second defender covering his back, be read to move acroos the field.

- Defenders win possession or clears the ball and the next group goes

- Switch teams after 5 balls

Progression:

- 4v3 and you can add a timelimit of the attackers getting goal

Coaching Emphasis:

- Stay Compact and play pressure cover

- Communication is key

- Be careful of the angles of approach, don't get beat 1v1
