TRANSITIONING FROM OFFENSE > DEFENSE
Mentality - Transition from Offense to Defense (or vice versa)
Spatial Awareness - Knowing when/where to recover.
Defense Mobility - Recognizing players that are recovering. Identifying the player closest and IN FRONT of the ball to step and delay. Knowing when to press vs. challenge.
Defensive Technique - Body approach / angle / shape.
Communication - Between players to tell teammates when to recover based off of their positioning (in front / from behind / ALONGSIDE / at an ANGLE). And communicating who has press = delay.
Mentality - Patience to win the ball (or delay) as well as, anticipating the next action.
Transition between roles - Once players have recovered and player has stepped to win the ball, if player does not win the ball, can player closest and IN FRONT of ball step to press and delay for player to recover and then step again.
Support / Transition - Numbers around the ball when we do not have possession. Quick transition to expand once we regain it to support the play.
