Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): U13 C2.S1 Def. Def 1/3 - Pressure player with the ball.

2v3 (15 mins)

Organization: Field is 20x30

Instructions:

- Defender passes it to CM and both run up to press.

- CM finds the striker and from that point make it 3v2.

- Attackers trying to score on the gk, if defenders win the ball they can score on the mini goals.

- Attackers rotate clockwise, defender go back in line (switch groups after 5 minutes).

- Game is played with offside.

Coaching Points:

1. Approach fast, arrive slow in the press 2. Get 1 of the defenders close on the striker (make it difficult for him to receive and try to force the mistake) 3. When attackers connect a pass, always maintain pressure on the player with the ball 4. 2nd defender follows in and maintains pressure on the striker.

Progressions:

- Beginning CM needs to find the striker, progression is where this decision now is open.

9v9 (25 mins)

Organization: Half field (pref. till top of the mid circle)

Instructions: Scrimmage
Teams play 9v9
5 minute games.

Coaching Points:

1. #2 + #3 Rec. on when to leave the center to press the #7+#11

2. #4 + #5 Keeping pressure on opp. #9 (communicate when to hand over pressure)
3. #6 Rec. area of the ball and block of passing line to #9 (be ready to leave the position and step in block tackle if needed.

4. #8 + #10 Keeping pressure on opp. #8/10 on side of the ball and rec. pass to opp. #6.

5. #9 Keeping pressure on opp. #4/5 on side of the ball.
