Warm Up (15 mins)

Set up

Area 20x20 yard grid with lines of cones seperated every 5yards.

Rules and Conditions

Players go through PEP routine including Motor Movement, Dynamic Stretching, Strength, plyometric and sprint (with changes of direction) phases. Focus on techniques and landing mechanics. Use resistance bands for strength development and Post Activation Potentiation.

Mental (20 mins)

Set Up

Cone in between two players. Mark a line on each side for players to cross.

Rules and Conditions

Groups of 3 or 4. Coach calls out body parts, players have to touch that body part. When coach calls Cone first player to pick up the cone and sprint over the line wins.

Prep/Activation (15 mins)

Set Up

Mini Goals 30 yards apart. Small box 5 yards from goal.

Rules and Conditions

Players race with the ball to the square and have to put their ball in the net. As soon as they have passed the ball, they have to chase their next opponent and try to stop them scoring. Play continuously. Keep score.

Time

3 minute games. Total time 15 minutes.

Possession (20 mins)

Set Up

30 x 30 yard square split into halves.

Rules and Conditions

10x6. The team with 10 keep possession of the ball. They get a point every time they are able to play a pass through the a gate or make 8 passes. The team of 6 to try and win the ball back and score in any goal.

Total duration: 6 minutes per game max. Three games.

Set Up  

Main Goal. Three wide goals spread on the half-way line.

8v7. Coach plays the ball into the red team who are to try and score in one of the mini-goals. White team to try and win the ball back and counter attack.
