Blue team goalie, 4 defenders, and 3 mids set up in positions they would take on a goal kick. Red team has 2 strikers and 3 mids. Only goalie and 2 centerbacks for blue team and the two strikers for red team can play below the top of the 18 yard box. Strikers can only enter 18 yard box after ball has been kicked, just as in game play. Play begins with goalie and goes from there. It is a simple game of possession. Red team scores with 5 consecutive passes. Red team scores with just 3 consecutive passes. Encourage quick passes by the blue team, as to avoid individual challenges and turnovers in and around the box.

Small-sided game simulating goal kicks. Game begins with a goal kick. Blue team attempts to score 1 point by playing through one of two gates on the wings. Red team can score 3 pts by taking the ball and scoring in the goal. Emphasize playing out of the back and attempting to score through the gates while at the same time being smart and safe and not turning the ball over for easy shots by the red team.
