Learning Outcomes:

2. Understand the difference between a driven finish and an inside of the foot (placement) finish.

Organization:
- Area of play will be the central channel of the attacking third.
- 2 mini goals are now across from shooter. This is to facilitate the off-center approach
- 3 lines, rotation is A-B-C.
Instructions:
- Same as Introduction, however, now we have to drive the ball.
- 10 minutes for this activity.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Angle of approach - off center
- Head up to observe the position of the GK
- Head down at the point of contact
- Non-kicking foot places to side
- Hips turn to face the far post as the player strikes
- Contact on the ball is with the laces
- Follow through landing on the striking foot

Organization:
- Add a goalkeeper
- Push the server of the second ball down closer to the end line.
Instructions:
- Same as Main Activity I but now players shoot on goal.
- Encourage a driven shot with the first ball and placement shot with the second ball.
- Switch sides of servers after 8'
- 16 minutes for this activity
Coaching Points/Questions:

Progressions:
1- Take away ball 2, and player C defends (if defender gets first touch of opponent's pass he gets a point). If he/she steal balls and scores gets 1 point as well.

Organization:
- 4 mini goals close enough to the half as shown above.
- White team going towards 4 mini goals and Red team going towards goal.
Instructions:
- If white scores in any of the mini goals, it's a point. If red scores on the big goal, it can be 2 points if it's behind the half. 1 point if it's over the half.
- Encourage the driven shot as much as possible!

Game:
5v5 game in a smaller field in order to encourage lots of shots repetitions.

- Who: Forwards, attacking midfielder, any player in an attacking position (7, 9, 11, 10, etc)
- What: Finishing with a driven shot.
- Where: Attacking third of the field
- Why: Because it's an important technique to learn in order to increase the quality of shots
- When: In possession
- What ifs: inside of the foot finish vs driven.

Introduction (10 mins)
Organization:
- Area of play will be the central channel of the attacking third.
- 2 wider pugg goals in order to place finishes.
- 3 lines, rotation is A-B-C.
Instructions:
- Player from line A passes into player B, who controls and tries to score into the mini goals.
- After player B finishes into the mini goal, he/she receives ball from player C and finishes once again.
- Encourage the inside of the foot, so that players get the feel of placing the finishing with more control.
- Shooters shouldn't take more than three touches between the first touch and the final product.
Coaching Points/Questions:
1. Can I come in and check in to ask for the ball? (player B)
2. Can I control and adjust my body, with my hips pointing at the target?
3. Can I have my hips facing the desired target and open my shooting foot (as it is pointing to the side)?
4. Can I turn quickly, look up and hit the target?
Progressions:
1. 1 point for every finish (2 minutes)
2. 3 points for a 1-touch finish (4 minutes)
3. 5 points for a weak-foot finish (4 minutes)
4. Start from other side (5 minutes)
