Fun Game (Warm Up) (10 mins)

Organization:

1. Use the Goal line or the touch line.

2. Have the players lined up should to shoulder with a little space between each other facing the coach.

Instructions:

1. Coach calls out a command for players to do and every player jumps with feet together.

2. Coach says "Forward" every player jumps forward, coach says jump "Backwards" every players jumps backward, Left and Right.

3. If the players jumps a different direction then that player sprints to the coach and back.

4. This is a great exercise for the players to get focused and really pay attention!

Progression:

1. Do the opposite of what the coach says, coach says forward players jump backward.

Core Activity 1 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 12 - 30 cones in row (as shown above)

2. Seperate players in to 2 teams

3. Cones should be 2 yards apart, width and depth.

Instructions:

1. Players play 2 touch across (ball never stops)

a) Receive with the inside left foot, pass with the inside right foot - 2 touch - Alternate feet

b) Receive with the outside left pass with the inside left - 2 touch - Alternate feet

c) Receive with roll over right foot and pass with inside left foot - 2 touch - Alternate feet

2. 1 touch across - think quick, play fast

3. 1 touch forward roll across (foot on top of ball and roll forward)

Progression:

1. Change up technic (receive with outside right foot and pass with inside of left foot) - 2 touch

2. Outside foot (left and right) - 1 touch

Core Activity 2 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 3 cones in a straight line 5 - 7 yards apart (depending on ability level)

2. Seperate players into groups of 3 (depending on numbers)

3. Each player start on a cone (as shown above)

Instructions:

GRID A

Ball always starts in the middle for each grid.

1. Player in the middle passes to player on the cone.

2. Player on the cones receives the ball on the left side of the cone and uses the cone as a defender to dribble around to the middle cone.

3. Once the player dribbles to the middle cone that player passes to the other side and pattern starts over.

4. Players pass and dribble in a circle for an allocated amount of time. (5 - 7 minutes)

GRID B

1. Player in the middle passes to player on the cone.

2. Player on the cones plays a give n go with player from the middle (use cone as defender) to receive the ball onthe other side of the cone to dribble to the middle cone.

3. Once the player reaches the middle cone it starts over again on the other side.

4. Now we added combination passing to drill

GRID C

1. Player in the middle passes to player on the cone.

2. Player on the cone plays a wall pass back to middle player, but receives it on the left side on the cones (use as defender) to take a touch by the cone/defender to dribble to the middle.

3. Drill repeats on the other side.

1. Tempo

2. Communication

3. Body positioning

4. Weight of the pass

5. Touch on the ball

Progression:

1. 1 touch passing throughout drill.

SSG (20 mins)

Organization:

1. 40 x 30 grid

2. 2 small goals or gates

3. Seperate players into 2 teams of 4 (depending on numbers) or 3 teams

Instructions:

1. Players play 4 v 4 in a small grid.

2. Work on Core Activities 1 and 2 .

3. Play for allocated amount of time (4 - 5 minute games) or X number of goals

4. Have Fun!

Progression:

1. Use combination to score (overlap, give n go)

2. Limit touches 1 or 2 touch
