Organization:
As above
Instructions:
A begins by taking first touch to either side of the cone. That touch is the trigger for B to move to receive pass. A passes to B on B's call (Feet). C defends and is live on A's first touch. B attacks two goals marked (1). If C wins ball they attack goals (2). Play until a goal is scored or the ball leaves the area. Process repeats. Switch lines every 90 seconds.
Coaching Points:
- Switch on
- Apply quick pressure

- Option B - Intercept pass and spoil play

- Reading of cues to make best decision (weight of pass, direction of pass, movement of receiver)
- Body shape if preventing teh turn (stay low, eyes on ball, hand in attackers back)
- Recognize moments to step in and win the ball (bad touch)

The receiving player steps up and passes the ball back to the coach
The other two players move to take up defensive shape
Coaching Points:
- Distance between the three players should remain compact throughout
- Movements should be made quickly to deny space between players
- When the central player steps out the outside players should fall back and in
- Communication between players - pressure, cover, balance
Progressions:
To begin the exercise the passes from the coach are made in sequence - as the exercise progresses the passes from the coach become more random
