Multi touch ball manipulation

Into

Pass & move session, half the players have a ball.

Players without a ball are looking to receive a pass, those with the ball are looking to make a pass.

Once pass is made players move to receive next pass. 1 or 2 touch play if possible.

Good communication, quality pass and positive 1st touch into space.

Looking at defenders ability to defend the side of the pitch that play is on. Pitch is divided in to 4 quarters across pitch to defend. Encourage Attackers to play wide and use the width of the pitch.

Defenders to remain compact and defend and defend one side of the pitch. Do not allow wide player on opposite side drag LB or RB out of shape.

Only need to defend 3 of the 4 quarters across the pitch.

CDM to provide cover and protection and be the first to press to allow back 4 to keep their shape.

Good communiaction needed

Far wide attcking player is not a threat without the ball.

If the play is switched defenders remain compact but slide across to opposite side of pitch and react to the switch of play.

Wide attcker on opposite side is not marked as he is not an immediate threat.

Delay, Deny, Balance.

Close down quickly and deny through ball by remaining compact. Keep opponents wide and away from goal.
