THE SESSION: 1v1 Warm Up
Session Objective:
To use the space in-front to attack quickly
Set Up:
Attacking player (red starts with the ball)
He takes his first touch and drives towards the goal the defender is active and tries to catch him and stop him scoring
If he wins the ball he can turn and score in the opposite goal
Players join the opposite sides and the next side goes (blue attack and red defend)
Key Messages:
Attack at pace
Positive first touch towards goal
Don't allow the defend to catch you
Strike on the move

THE SESSION: 1v1
Session Objective:
Exploiting space in-front of opponent to create goal scoring opportunities in a 1v1 situation
Set up:
60x40 split into 3 even sections with 2 goals placed in the middle section.
Place players into 4 groups as shown.
Exercise:
GK each side serves ball to players in group 1 and 4 and come in and play.
Two attackers from these group enter the field
Two defenders from groups 2 and 3 also enter the fielf to create a 2v2
Players from group 1 and 4 look to score past keeper with defenders from 2 and 3 looking to win the ball and counter and score in either mini goal or run between the middle scoring zone.
Once ball dead 1 goes to 2, 2 goes to 3, 3 goes to 4 and then 4 goes to 1.
Key Messages:
Attack with pace once received the ball.
Draw defender away from goal to create goal scoring chances

THE SESSION: SSG
Session Objective:
The create 1v1 situations in a game scenario by exploiting space and movement to receive ball
Set Up
Same pitch in 3 zones with goals moved to each end.
Split players into 2 teams with 2 CBs, 2 WBs and 2 Forwards.
Have 2 MC (yellow) in play as floaters players.
Have spare players on the side to rotate.
Exercise:
-RED GK serves ball to MC and plays a ball back to a red player.
-Red then look to attack and score past blue with yellow MC playing for Red.
-If a score blue GK serves to Yellow MC and play as red did.
-If any team wins the ball during these plays they can counter attack and score themselves.
-Switch spare players after a play from each keeper.
Key Messages:
-Use of the spare players to create goal-scoring chances.

THE SESSION: Thinking Game
Session Objectives:
Can we improve our teams ability win the ball back quickly when you have turned over possession.
Set Up:
Two players enter the square from each team. One player with the ball and one players with out.
One team starts as the attacking team and the other starts as the defending (tagging team).
The attacking team must try and tag the player with the ball on the opposite side with the player on the ball. They can use their team mates to either position themselves nearer the player on the ball to tag or to get away from their opponents
Key Messages:
To put immediate pressure on the player who has gained possession.
Anticipate where the ball carrier is going to play.
If the opposition is playing backwards continue the press.
Recognise when the opposition has secured possession and drop into an organise press.
