Player A starts with Ball. Player B checks away from ball and then back towards. A plays B the ball who opens up to receive turn and plays a pass to C. As C is receiving the ball, player D checks towards C then away, C plays a pass to D who takes a touch off front foot out of feet towards A and plays a pass to A. Setup: Play area 40x30 divided into 4 zones 10 yds long and 30 yds wide. 4 players of each team in end zones and 3 of each team in middle as shown
2 Wide players (keepers) are able to travel up and down the side to
provide 1-touch support, they cannot transefer the ball from one
zone to other.
Activity: Players on the outside areas must possess and play 4 passes in their zone and then attempt to play through line of defenders into teammates in centre area C to gain 1 pt. Once the ball travels through, the receiving group must then do the same in order to get it back through to teammates in A.
* If opposition (black) intercepts ball, they must now attempt to play four passes within their area and then attempt to play through white teams lines to their teammates
When Ball is in area A, Black team B can send one defender in to pressure. If ball is in C, Black team can send one player from D to pressure.**NOTE: Defender cannot leave there zone to pressure until the ball is received in that zone.
If Black is in posession in area D, white can send one defender from C to pressure. If ball is in area B, white can send one player from A to pressure. **NOTE: Defender cannot leave there zone to pressure until the ball is received in that zone.
If pressuring defender wins the ball and gains posession, immediately turns to either of their color groups and plays a pass through.
Key Points
1. Quality of passes across the line to allow players to have head
up and find seam to play through.
2. timing of pass to break the line effectively
3. Movement patterns and timing of runs by players in middle 3rd
to get on the ball (and immediately play within their zone)
