Playing with 3rd man
Definition 3rd man: Player positioned in front of the ball carrier and behind one or two defensive lines.
ORGANIZATION :
Set up the pitch as shown
Number of players: 8 against 8
Play area: 50 m wide x 70 m deep - Position 3 goals to defend and attack
EXPLANATIONS :
Each team attacks and defends 3 goals.
In possession of the ball, you must find deep player support (A) before you can score in one of the 3 goals.
Depends the level of your team, you can add a defender (B) Both players are not allowed to access the indoor play area.
Players must organize themselves in 3/1/1 so as to occupy the playing space correctly
EVOLUTIONS :
If you want your players to seek the deep support from the defensive zone, you can play on the number of points scored. For example, if the deep support is found from the defensive zone and the rest of the action ends with a goal, it will be worth + 3 points.
However, if it is found from the offensive zone, the goal will only be worth one point.
To simplify the content of this game to find the 3rd man, you can:
- Add a joker that will be with the team in possession of the ball
- Modify the game space
Key points :
In offensive tactical work like this, you must insist on speed of play in order to find forward passing solutions. Emphasize a lot on the game in 1 or 2 keys to move forward.
The speed of play does not only depend on the one-touch play. It will depend on the quality of the pass (ball speed), the quality of the individual game (number of touch, movement speed) and the quality of the connections between the players.

Dribbling and passing (15 mins)
ORGANIZATION :
For this technical work of dribbling, ball controlling and passing, you must draw a 30 x 30 m square. You position 9 players outside the defined area, and 9 others with a ball inside.
EXPLANATION :
The player in possession passes to a partner of another colour and takes his place respecting the theme imposed by the coach.
Sequence 1 - ball controlling + dribbling + passing ( 1 min 30)
Sequence 2 - ball controlling + dribbling + scissor + pass ( 1 min 30)
Sequence 3 - ball controlling + dribbling inside / outside of both feet + pass ( 1 min 30)
Sequence 4 - ball controlling + full turn inside or outside the foot + pass ( 1 min)
Resumption of technical exercises. This time, the work is done in 45-second sequences. The players inside remain inside and the outside supports simply pass the ball to the player by making a call in their direction. Change of work group after 45 seconds.
Sequence 1 - play one/two and ask an another ball
Sequence 2 - same as above, but control one foot and move on to the other. Coach must say players don't run fast, but the realization of the gesture must go fast, during the exercise.
Sequence 3 - same as above, but control and pass with the same foot
Sequence 4 - invent your own technical requirements..
