1 v 1
Organisation: - Set up a 20 x 15 grid as such with a 2 x 2 square in the middle. - To begin with, each player has a ball.
Instruction:1. Unopposed
- Opposite players run into the 2 x 2 grid with the ball, make a skill move either left or right and accelerate through the diagonal right or left cone. - Join the opposite line and continue until coach is satisfied.
2. Semi- Opposed - One team acts as a passive defender. - The passive defender is allowed to put pressure on the ball carrier within the 2x2 square, however cannot leave this area. - The players join their own line again and continue for 4-5 turns before swapping over.
Step Up- The player in the middle is allowed to try and tackle the player once they leave the area. - Add in a extra passive defender on the sides. The player with the ball must beat them again before running through the gate.

Coaching Points - Look to beat your player using the skills we used earlier - Attack at pace - Use little touches to beat your player and accelerate out into space with bigger touches. - Be confident and look to beat your player 1 v 1.

Organisation: - Pair off the entire team and set up cones about 2-3m apart as shown. - 1 ball between 2 players.
Instruction: - The player with the ball must move the ball laterally from cone to cone whilst trying to deceive the player opposite him. - The opposite player tries to jockeys the player with the ball from the other side of the line, attempting to keep pace with the changes of pace and direction. - The player with the ball must use different skills and techniques to get to the either cone before the other player can put his foot there. - Each player goes for about 1-2 minutes at a time and rotates.
Coaching points:- Keep changing direction- Keep changing the pace which you go - Use all the different parts of your feet to manipulate the ball.
