Goal of the Activity:
High intensity Defending
Set Up:
2 10x10 Grids with 5x10 space seperating grids for extra defenders
Rules:
Connecting 7 passes = 1 point for the attacking team
Defenders dribling out with the ball = 1 point for the defending team
Every time the ball goes out of play, 1 new defender enters and the longest "in" defender exits the grid
Coaching Points:
Angle of approach
Speed of approach
Type of takle - Slide, poke, or block
Key Phrases:
Close them down
Make them predictible,
Intercept or tackle for the ball
Guided Discovery Questions:
How can we make the game predictible?
When do we poke tackle, when do we block tackle?
How can we put the team building out under more pressure?
When is the best time to pressure? When is the best time to lay off?

Goal of the Activity:
Initially: to successfully recycle the ball from the back
Then to pressure from the front to create a turnover
Set Up:
Whole width, to half field, two mini goal and balls next to either mini goal to start
Rules:
Players will start with the ball, passing back to a center midfielder, then back to the 2 or 3, then back to the keeper if pressure isnt too heavy.
Defending team is released after initial pass is made
Coaching Points:
Make the play predictible,
When to pressure, interception or tackle
Cover players fill

Set Up:
First set of cones 5 yards back, next set of cones 15 yards back
Initially setter will start with ball on ground
Rules:
Sequence will go for 1 minute(adjust for age, condition, and skill level)
Other sequences can include: one touch, two touches, give and go, overlap, turn and sprint, recieving out of the air ect.
