Three techniques to combine using team mates to best defenders with a SSG to put them into practice.

1. The give and go
P1 starts with ball and dribbles straight at coach/def
P2 chooses to go right or left (body shape)
P1 plays give and go, making run around the opposite side of defender
P1 takes on to shoot

2. The Spin and overlap
P1 starts with ball, passes to P2
P2 shields ball and holds off defender (coach)
P1 makes run on either side
P2 spins defender and releases pass for P1 to take on and shoot

3. Forward run in anticipation of pass
P1 Starts with ball, passes to P2
P2 lays ball back to P1 and makes run around cone
P1 plays pass through pole gate aiming to time the pass as P2 gets there
P2 continues to shoot (+p on second touch)
P1 takes P2 position

• Two teams, 4v4 in central area
• Teams aim to score into either goal (could be played directional too)
• Players are not allowed to touch the ball in the red areas
• Players can only cross the red line AFTER the ball has been passed over it.
i.e. A pass must be played right through the red zone before it can be touched again in the blue zone.
Encourage use of the 3 techniques practised in the session.
Arrival: Passing shapes (10 mins)
1st Phase - White
Passing in a triangle 1 > 2 > 3 > 1
2 Touch
2nd phase - Red
Passing in a quadrant 1 > 2 > 4 > 3 > 1
Pass, control, turn & pass
3rd phase - Green
Pass & turn 1 > 2 > 4 > 5 > 3 > 1
Various lengths of pass
4th phase - Blue
Awareness of pass 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 1
Introduce 2nd ball once passes are flowing
