Organization:
20 x 20 yd area with a circle of cones in the center
Lots of balls in the middle
Instructions:
All the little froggies (the balls) are trying to escape from the pond (central area) out into the wild (the main area) - they heard sooo much about the movies, Chuck e Cheese, the beach and etc. that they want to see it too. These little froggies are too small to go out in the wild by themselves so the Frog Catchers (the players) need to chase after the little froggies and (dribble) bring them back to the pond before they get lost or dried up in the sun! Now be careful because these frogs are clever and are able to jump high (coach bounces the ball) and move really fast (coach rolls the ball).
Coaching Points:
- Run fast to catch the little froggies
- Catch the frog before it stops jumping
- Make sure you keep your eye on the frog so it doesn't go away
Progressions:
Frogs get faster and jump higher.
Players must move like frogs now to get them back (hopping & jumping) and make sounds like frogs so that the little froggies don't get scared and know they are going home.

Organization:
-20x20
-4 Goals (2 goals if only 2 teams)
-12 players, plenty of balls
Instructions:
Ask parent/coach volunteers to help you manage the teams.
-Players are split into groups, assigned a Hippo(goal) to feed
-Players run into the middle to collect a soccer ball from the pool
-Dribble this as close as they can to the Hippo and kick the ball into its mouth
-When all the soccer balls are gone each team counts how many soccer balls they have in their Hippo’s mouth.
-If you don't have goals/nets, you can create a box with cones and have the players dribble the ball into the box.
Coaching Points:
-Get the ball as close as you can before you make your kick into the Hippo’s mouth
-Head up to make sure you kick the ball w hen the Hippo has its mouth open
-No hands when collecting the ball from the pool
Progressions:
-Set a time limit – Players now only have 3 minute to feed their Hippo
-Ask the parents to open and close the Hippo mouth quickly
Body Part Dribble (U5) (15 mins)
Organization:
-20x20 grid (adjust accordingly)
Instructions:
- All the players dribble their soccer ball
- The coach calls out a body part. (ex: knee, elbow, chest, etc..)
- Players must stop the ball an put that body part on it.
-Vary the body parts and the rate at which you call it
Coaching Points:
- Control the ball using small (Messi) touches
- Heads up, look for space, don't bunch up
- Good change of direction
Progressions:
