Defending as a unit

Hard to diagram but the goal is for the players in the defensive side to shift as a unit and be in a good supporting position to not allow their lines to be broken.

4 players will be on one side of the 4 cones. They will pass the ball sideways one cone to the next.

The defender in front of the player with the ball should be pressed up on the ball. The player to their side should be tucked in and back at a supporting angle. The player 2 passes away can be higher but still tucked in and if a player is 3 players away they should again be tucked in but can be even higher.

The 4 defenders shape should look like a banana.

When the ball passes from one edge to one of the middle players, the player in line would go to the ball, the 2 on either side should be back at a supporting angle and tucked in and the player 2 passes away should be a bit higher than the player 1 pass away but still tucked in.

SWe definitely need a video to show this and may be too advanced for the U9 and U10 groups.
