GK 1 receives a volley, with the ball in hand, GK 1 will square up to goal, squat down and touch the ball to the floor, then will proceed to jump up and throw the ball over the crossbar to GK 2.
Progression: GK 1 catches ball 3-4 steps off of line (see red players). GK 1 will square up to goal and squat down touching the ball to the ground. After this, they will time their steps so they push off of one leg, and drive the other knee up as they explode up and over the bar to throw the ball to GK 2.
** If keepers cannot reach over the bar, I will have them jump up and hit the top post with the ball, or simply jump as high as they can with the ball over their head**

Before we get into specific positioning, I want to work on the footwork needed to cover the different areas of crosses (near, middle, and far)
**A big focus here will be on keepers first actions when the ball is served. Do they start to run out immediately, or do they wait to get a good read on the ball before coming off line.**
Server will start by tossing the ball into area one. Keeper will come forward and attack at highest point. I want the tosses to be high, but slightly driven so the keeper needs to work on reading the flight before attacking.
Talking points will be about footwork to the ball, and how that footwork varies depending on the area that the ball is tossed in.
After we've covered all three areas, keepers will then deal with service from all three areas, and need to adjust positioning and footwork in between.

I want to talk about where goalkeeper positioning should be at these spots. This will be an interactive discussion, where keepers will show me their thoughts about where they should be and we will talk about it.
After we discuss different angles, I will have keepers practice their positioning by running to a disc, and having them adjust where they need to be.
Progression I will have some students serve balls in, or I can punt some in from those positions.

Because were getting into shots, we will do quick side rockers to each side in order to get the keepers acclimated to the ground.
GK receives crossing service from Server 1, catches ball at highest point, and distributes back to server 1. Immediately after, they retreat back to goal for a shot form server 2.
**If server is having trouble with service, they can punt the ball in, or try to throw it, but ideally we will have a service from the floor.**

Footwork Warm Up
Keeper will start at back cone, they will come out and touch the ball in the servers hands then retreat between the two cones and receive a high ball they need to jump straight up for. There will not be time to take steps and attack the ball, but I will stress driving up with a knee for protection.
After keeper receives the high ball, they will toss it back to servers hands, and retreat to the middle of the triangle where they will receive a volley.
*Focus will be on catching the ball at the highest point, and quick retreat footwork*
