Defending Warm-Up Part 1 (10 mins)

Area: 10x10

- Start: On Coache's "5"-4-3-2-1.

- Blue looks to engage red and tag him/her before getting through poles.

- Only have 5 seconds to score (coach counts down)

- Play 1 min then switch roles

- Lowest score owes something (i.e. 3 Knee's to Chest)

Defending Warm-Up Part 2 (10 mins)

Area: 20x20

Blues: work to stay touch-tight with reds

Reds: allowed one change of direction/pace and try to get to the outside of the square before being tagged by blue (=1 point)

- Work for 20 seconds and switch roles. Lowest score owes something.

Area: 60x40

- All restarts with the team of 5

- In one half: team of 5 works to score on team of 4. When team of 4 wins it, they look to play the 2v1 in other half.

- One player from team of 5 may recover to defend in other half.

- Play 2 min games an switch roles - lowest scores owes someting!

Coaching Points:

*When team of 5 loses it:

- On the ball: 2 closest = ball-oriented forcing outside.

- Around the ball: tighly mark the next closest passing opportunities.

- If press is broken - delay for support!

*When team of 4 finds 2v1

- delay for support!!!

4v4 Conditioning Game (Overload Fitness) (45 mins)

4v4 Conditioning Game: Field: 33x20

Set 1: Six 1-minute games, with 2-minute rest between games

REST 4 minutes between sets

Set 2: Six 1-minute games, with 2-minute rest between games

- Uninterupted Play: Coach within the run of play only. No stoppages. Keep balls available for restarts.

NOTE: You can have 2 seperate games going! Inactive players should be doing fitness specific to game demands on the side. Make sure to switch players in and out between each game and not during.

- Make sure to lead team through a proper cool down to end training.
