Organization:
- Full gym with centre of pitch as defending zone (7 to 8 yards length)
- 4 players on each team
- Pinnies for each team
Instructions:
- Attackers in each end try to pass the ball through defenders to other side. ball must be passed on ground.
- When attackers on one end make 5 passes in their own zone, one defender gets activated to pressure the attackers. Every 5 passes one more defender gets activated to pressure.
- If defenders stop pass through, they get 1 point
- If defenders win ball in attackers' zones and dribble the ball over the end line, they get 5 points.
- Each defending team play for 5 minutes and see how many points they can get.
- If an attacking player kicks ball out in their own end, then attacker must exit the field and run to other end of field and back before becoming active again. Attacking team will play without the one player until she returns.
Coaching Points:
- Stance
- Delay play
- One defender to win the ball
- Forcing a player wide - body position
- Formation and shifting as a defensive unit
Progressions:
- Reduce the number of touches by attackers before defenders can pressure

Organization:
- 12 players with 4 in each grid , 2 on each end
- See diagram for equipment and set-up
- 10 x 15 grid with one small goal at defenders end
- Set a centre cone as shown in orange about half-way
Instruction:
- As soon as attacker turns and touches ball, defender becomes active and closes space
- Attacker attempts to score in opposition goal
- If defender wins the ball, she can score by dribbling ball over attackers goal line
- Play is dead if the ball goes out of the grid and next attacker goes
- Have one side play defensive role for about 4/5 minutes and then switch
Coaching Points:
- Speed and angle of approach. Arched run to close angle and get in front of attacker (CLOSE DOWN)
- Defender must SLOW DOWN as they arrive at attacker and not over commit.
- Arms out for balance, angled body, one foot in front of the other at an angle. (SURF BOARD)
- Push attacker away from goal.
Progression:
- Attacker can pass back to other attacker to activate 2nd attacker. 2nd defender becomes active as well.
