Move to Ball
Instructions
The GK starts in the centre of his goal and facing directly out.
On command, the GK will move over to the correct position at the post (just forward of the post) in order to receive a shot from C.
- Both sides to be worked x5.
PROGRESSION
1. Cp will start with the ball and on command, the GK will have to move to be in line with him.
2. Cp will pass the ball to C1 who will control the ball and have a shot at the goal, the GK must make a quick movement over the goal in order to get set for the shot.
Q. Can the GK know where the shot is going to come from? (lead into the trigger points on the next drill)
COACHING POINTS
1. The GK is moving at speed to get to the right position.
2. The GK sets early and his weight is forward.

Moving Ball
Instructions
The GK will start behind the mannequin,
On the left or right command, the GK will move in that direction and find the moving ball.
The C can shoot at any point (but is to avoid a 1-2-1 situation).
*We aim to avoid speaking about the trigger point as this will be dealt with later*
*Is the GK ready for the shot*
PROGRESSION
The ball is taken further out by the coach before he shoots.
COACHING POINTS
1. The GK moves quickly and gets early eyes on the ball
2. The GK tries to get into position early and set for the shot
3. the GK is NOT guessing the side in which to dive to

Trigger Points
Instructions
The GK starts in the centre of his goal and facing straight out.
On command, the GK will move out around the mannequin in order to be in line with the ball. A soon as the GK sets the coach will play the ball out from his feet and move forward to save a shot on goal.
We want to see the GK making a movement in order to remain in line and looking for the trigger point so that he is set for the shot.
PROGRESSION
1. As above but C1 will pass the ball to Cp in order for him to control the ball and shoot.
2. CP can now shoot using his 1st touch.
COACHING POINTS
1.Set positions have to be correct and the GK is not guessing what side the ball is going to, he has to watch the ball.
2. Movements are super quick as is the stopping.
3. The GK is looking for the trigger points.

Moving GK
Instructions

On command, the GK will move around to a mannequin to get in line with c1 for the shot on goal.
- Does the GK get in line with the ball properly?
- Does the GK get clear of the mannequin so that he can dive on both directions?
PROGRESSION
1. The GK moves around the mannequin and sets, C1 then makes a pass to Cp and the GK is to move across the goal in order to deal with the shot from Cp
2. The ball starts at cp and the GK is in line and ready for any shot on goal (which can be taken here) cp passes to C1 who is to control the ball and then shoot. The GK is to move around the mannequin in order to set in line.
