Organization
Set-up a grid of 20x25 yds, with 1 big net on one side and two little nets on the other side. Set-up gates at diagonal corners and then two passing lines (black players) as shown in diagram. Use cones to set-up in middle of field where CF will set-up behind as well as one in the middle for the across pass.
Implementation
A - black player passes into yellow player
B - yellow player takes first touch with outside of foot and then plays a leading pass to green player
C - green player takes a first touch (prep touch) and shoots on either little nets.
Repeat going both ways.. and follow your rotation. Passer goes to leading passer, leading passer goes to shooter, shooter joins new line of passer.
*coach can play in net, or you can put a little net into the big net and have players shoot around the little net.
Coaching points
weight and pace of passes
first touch with outside of foot
leading pass into runner
timing of runs
striking technique; ankle locked, toe down, follow-through, planting foot, have a quick peak

Organization
Set-up field with two mini nets and and wide channels approx 4yds in width. Add central lines to keep opposing teams separate.
Implementation
Team A vs Team B attempting to score in mini nets. Encourage players to move the ball quickly in order to attempt to create gaps to try to have a shot on net with. Wide channels are the only available way to go into opposing's half - however no defenders allowed in. If player drives down wide channel - she can cut back or attempt to shoot herself.
IF enough players - can add end zone with a target player to try to play to as well.
Coaching Points
- shape in possession vs out of possession
- moving the ball quickly (pace of pass, use of feints, first touch)
- decision-making: am I going to drive on the flank, am I going to try to have a shot on net...
- defending team encouraged to stay tight and pressure where ball is
Warm-up (20 mins)
Organization
Set-up grid of 25x20 yds.
Implementation
Half with ball, half without - players passing & receiving on the go using a variety of passes. Communicate time, man-on and turn.
- start with the ball on the ground (variety of passes)
- move to players having ball in hands, toss to partner and partner uses laces to play back. Tosser receives with their body and then dribbles away. Eventually picks the ball back up and goes again.
Coach walks around with different coloured cones in hands to have players scan and shout.
Progression
- assign specific player to deliver aerial ball only
- have receiving player touch the instep of the foot they are about to receive with prior to receiving
- have player scan and call out the name of the player behind them or coach behind them or say no one
- assign specific player to only play 2 player combination passes
Coaching Points
- communication (man-on, time, turn)
- receiving side on, scanning, positive first touch
- weight of pass, pace of pass, accuracy of pass (certain foot)
- pass to space vs pass to feet
