8x8 boxes
players stand opposite eachother to start. one player passes to the other. the player who receives scores at the lateral sides of the box (horizontally from the pass). if the defender steals the ball, they score vertically.
scoring: dribble to line and perform a turn at the line while hiding the ball
if ball is knocked out of play, restart and player who touched it out passes to partner, who scores horizontally.
progression: can turn this into a tournament where...in 45 second games, players compete and players move up/down depending on the score of their game.
Idea is they will get a lot of repitition in this activity, keep the work times low (30-60 seconds at a time) after a quickrest they should be able to go again.

510-525
Set Up: 12x12 Boxes (2 of them)
Instructions:
1. Red Plays to Blue
2. Blue Receives and takes a touch towards yellow gate on his right. Red closes him down and stops his progress towards cone.
3. Yellow turns the ball with a move to go towards other goal (green in diagram).
Constraints: If Defender cheats coach the defender to help the attacker (eg: "Red..Don't move after playing until Blue has taken his first touch")
Success Criteria:
1. kids keep the ball AWAY from defender rather than turn into him.
2. Ensure they EXPLODE out of the move for 3 steps.
3. Indentify players who have their Head Up.
Progressions:
a. 1 point for scoring a goal
b. 5 points for changing direction while hiding the ball then scoring

Players play 2v2 and we are looking for scenarios where we can hide the ball. goals can be scored at any time for a point.
BUT if a player hides the ball, then can find their teammate with a pass and a goal is scored, that is worth 10 points.

Facilitate the game and help with positions, positioning, and game format. Facilitate a basic scrimmage with a goalkeeper. Allow the kids to “PLAY” but give guidance when necessary. Use a “coaching in the game” approach to emphasize the topics from this week’s training.
Dribble/Turn/Pass (10 mins)
4:45-4:55
Success Criteria:
1. Moves done with attention to detail
2. players get head up before they cut
3. explode for 3 steps after move
Moves to review:
a. inside chop
b. outside chop
c. pullback
d. twist off (with insides of foot)
3. twist off (with outsides of foot)
progression: once groups are cleanly performing moves, can finish with a race and see them apply technique at speed. for example first group to 10 clean dribbles, turns, passes is the winner.
