Set up: 35yd x 25yd pitch split into halves, goals are brought in on each side
1. The attacker runs onto the pitch and through the gate, P1 plays the ball into the attacker and he takes the shot. The next attacker runs through the gate and the ball is played in by P2, and so on, this varies the angle the player is receiving the ball from.
If the player is confident in his striking ability, then encourage them take the shot first time if not then take a positive touch to set up a shot.
Rotate P1 & P2
2. Progression: When P1 plays the ball in, he follows it in to put pressure on the attacker. To emphasise, this is not a dribbling drill and the attacker is encouraged to do no more than just create space and shoot, again,if possible then to do so first time.
Challenges:
Can they shoot first time? Can they shoot with non-dominant foot? Can they Shoot with the outside of their foot? Can the shot be placed with the inside of their foot?

Technique (15 mins)
Practice set out for 12 players
Area size is 35yds x 25yds with 2 goals available (poles can be used for goals if goals not available)
Players are bibbed on Arrival - Spare balls located near by.
For the Technique, split the field into 4 length ways (this can be adapted to suit age and numbers). 3 players in the box, one either side and one in the middle.
1. The P1 starts with the ball and strikes the ball towards the P2, striking the ball in a controlled manner using his laces or his instep simulating striking the ball for a shot. P2 stops the ball depending on the strike, he can control it using his feet or use his hands to catch it if needed. he then passes or rolls the ball to P3. If you have Goal Keepers, then use them as the middle player, if not then rotate the middle player.
Intervene as required to ensure the correct technique and mechanics are being used.
2. Progression - after P2 has controlled the ball, P1 advances, P2 lays the ball off for P1 to strike the ball towards P3, P2 then swaps places with P1 with him becoming the middle player, this continues with P3 replacing P1 etc.
Individual Conditions:
Can they strike the ball with non-dominant foot? Can they strike the ball with the outside of their foot?
