Goal: 4 minute games
Set-up: 40x50 (40x25 end zones). 4 vs 4 starting. 2 players per team in end corners (10 yard squares)
Rules:
1. Corner players on 1 touch while in corner.
2. Teams play 4 vs 4 for 4 minutes.
3. In order to 'unlock' corner players, play must connect into and out of the corner successfully. If corner player is unlocked, the space is also unlocked for that possession.
4. Once ball leaves the field or goal is scored, the original corner players must return to their space once again.
5. Corner players change every game.
PROGRESSION
1. Corner players are interchangeable at every point the ball leaves the field, first team to fill their corners receive the new ball
2. Corner players are interchangeable and must return at the end of each positive possession until released again
Coaching Points
1. Deny the time in possession for opposition to comfortably play forwards into their target players
2. Make the space large by spreading out and opening vertical passing lanes to target men
3. Support the target men as passes travel to them for a 1 touch bounce pass and easy release.
4. As team in possession creates attacking overload, can we fill the attacking space with a structure to penetrate centrally by pulling defenders out
