2v1 Pattern (Technical) (25 mins)

Organization:

- As shown. 2 different patterns.

Instructions:

- Pattern 1: Player A plays to player B, Player B opens up, drives forward and plays reverse pass to Player C. Player C goes to goal.

- Pattern 2: Player A plays to player B, Player B turns around corner, drives forward and plays striaght slip pass to Player C. Player C goes to goal.

Coaching Points:

- Quality of turn from player B.

- Quality of pass from player B.

- Timing and quality of runs from player C.

Progressions:

- 2nd mannequin becomes defender (counter to mini goal)

2v1 Conditioned Game to Goal (25 mins)

Organization:

- As shown. 2v1 in defensive half. 1v1 in attacking half. Reds are attacking on right, Whites are attacking on the left.

Instructions:

- Ball starts with goalkeeper playing into the respective defensive half (as shown on right side).

- Attackers play 2v1 in defensive half and 1 player can breakout into attacking half to make it 2v1.

- Attackers attempt to score in big goal. Should defenders win ball, they attack their respective goal.

- If a goal is scored or a ball goes out of play, the opposite goalkeeper starts play on the opposite side.

Coaching Points:

- Decision making of 1st attacker (dribble, pass, etc.). Can you commit the defender?

- Qualty of pass from 1st attacker.

- Timing and qualtiy of runs from 2nd attacker based on angle of 1st attacker's movement.

- 3rd man runs (after progression occurs).

Progressions:

- Allow attackers in the defensive half to play direct to the forward rather than dribbling to break out. 1 attacker from defensive half can still join in.
